When you’re regular top knot is feeling stale, add some flair in the back with a reverse french braid! Braid guru Kylee Heath walks us through how to recreate the look at home.
STEP 1
Create a triangular shaped section from temple to temple to the crown of the head then clip away.
STEP 2
Flip head upside down and brush all hair forward. Starting at the nape of the neck, create a dutch french braid (by adding hair underneath each section instead of over), braiding up the head.
STEP 3
When you’ve added all of the hair to your french braid (besides what is clipped away), continue braiding until you’ve reached the ends. Then add your clipped away section and secure with an elastic.
STEP 4
Use your fingers to pull apart the sides of the braid and create random texture.
STEP 5
Twist and loop the remaining hair to create a top knot, then secure with french pins.
