HOW TO
1. Using a pin tail comb, start by sectioning the side parts of the hair, a little bit further back than usual.
2. Clip these sections forward out of the way. At this stage if you feel like it is needed you can use a styling cream to smooth the hair and make it easier to work with.
3. You will find a middle section of hair between the two side sections. Use this section to give the hair a little bit of body at the crown of the head. Once you have the desired height at the crown, plait the hair in the middle section - leaving half of the hair down (as if you are wearing your hair half up/half down). Once you have finished this plait, pin it up in order to make it easier to get to the section of hair below.
4. Split the section of hair below into two and plait.
5. Let the middle plait down and check that the hair is lying in place.
6. Go back to the sections at the side and one at a time plait the hair moving in a backwards direction.
7. Bring the braids to meet in the middle and secure with a loom band. To achieve the knot look and hide the band, take a small section of hair and wrap it around the band - securing with a hidden hairgrip underneath.
8. At this stage you will have a ponytail left. Section this pony tail, plaiting the underneath section and fishtail braiding the top section so the fishtail falls on top of plait.
9. Again secure with a loom band and follow the steps taken previously to hide the band.
10. Bring all the plaits together at the bottom with one band and cover the band with a section of hair.
11. To finish the style go back over the hair and pull out the plaits to loosen the style, making the plaits bigger and overall, the look more dramatic. To do this hold the plait firmly at the bottom and work your way up the plait.
12. Once happy with the overall look secure the style with a hairspray of your choice.
